It's no secret that the SEC is a foundry for producing some of the NFL's top talent. According to SEC Country, as of June 11, 464 former SEC players currently occupy NFL rosters. Eight of those players happen to be members of the San Francisco 49ers.'s College Football 24/7 writer Chase Goodbread polled 20 players at SEC Media Day on the best player they have faced throughout their career, and 49ers rookie linebacker Reuben Foster proved to be the most popular answer. Just five players received more than one vote. Foster led them all with three.

Goodbread wrote: "Arkansas center Frank Ragnow picked Foster in part because the former Alabama star and Butkus Award winner seemed to know what play the Razorbacks had called last year before the snap.

"It was just freaky," Ragnow said."

Foster beat out other SEC first rounders including New York Jets Safety Jamal Adams, Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett and Buffalo Bills corner back Tre'Davious White.

Looking back at his time at Alabama, Foster appeared in 39 games in his three-year career with the Crimson Tide and totaled 211 tackles and seven sacks. In 2016, Foster led all FBS linebackers in run-stop percentage and led Alabama with 115 tackles and five sacks.
