Marquise Goodwin's 83-yard TD Catch Nominated for the NFL's Play of the Year
January 8, 2018 10:20 PM | Keiana Martin

Marquise Goodwin had one of the most emotional plays of the 2017 season.

Goodwin's 83-yard touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 10 is up for the "Bridgestone Elite Performance Play of the Year."

On 3rd-and-long, C.J. Beathard dialed up a deep bomb downfield to Goodwin for his lone reception of the game and first touchdown of the season.

Goodwin's score came just hours after tragedy. Following the San Francisco 49ers first victory of the season, Goodwin revealed that he and his wife suffered the loss of their infant son earlier that morning.

After blowing a kiss up to the sky to honor his son, Goodwin sank to his knees in the end zone and was immediately surrounded by his teammates in support.

Goodwin's well-deserved score marked the 49ers longest touchdown and play from scrimmage this season.

The winning play will be revealed during NFL Honors the night before Super Bowl LII. The two-hour prime time awards special will air nationally on February 3 at 6 P.M. Pacific Time on NBC.
